August: James play two sold out nights at Blackpool’s Empress Ballroom
August: James support David Bowie and The Cure at outdoor shows at Manchester Maine Road and Crystal Palace
December: Lose Control single released
December: James sell out a mini tour taking in Newcastle, Glasgow and Brixton, completed with two triumphant nights at Manchester’s 10,000 capacity G-Mex. The second night is filmed for later release on the Come Home live video.
December: A proposed mini-tour of the Soviet Union is cancelled at the last moment.
