James are marking the release of their new album by unveiling a mystery eighth member of the band.
Photographs of each band member were taken and morphed together to create a character called James.
They came up with the idea after getting fed up with people repeatedly asking which one of them was called James.
The band have created an entire history to the morphed James.
They say he is an elusive, charismatic, engaging individual.
Accounts about his background vary, with some saying he attended public school in Shropshire and others claiming he grew up in Moss Side.
James got into the music industry after getting involved in the punk scene and was inspired by Patti Smith, Joy Division and The Fall.
The band say he supports Manchester City, Leeds United and Barcelona.
James teamed up with producer Brian Eno to make their new album Pleased To Meet You. It is released on July 2.
