The leader at the midweek point, Yummy (via Nothing But Love Music) completes the chart week at No. 1.
It’s the second leader for Tim Booth and Co., following their 1998 career retrospective The Best Of, and 19th U.K. top 40 appearance.

JAMES have shared a further track from their forthcoming new album YUMMY. Following the first single, “Is This Love”, and the current single, “Our World”, the new track, LIFE’S A FUCKING MIRACLE, is available now across all platforms, with the album to follow on 12 April via Virgin Music.
Speaking about LAFM, singer Tim Booth says: “The most uplifting track on the album. A celebration of inclusivity because, even with all the dark shit going on in the world that drags us down into a morass of fear and negativity, Life’s A Fucking Miracle.”

JAMES have released the second single to be taken from their new album YUMMY. OUR WORLD is available now across all DSPs, with the album to follow on 12 April.
“Our World” holds onto the hope that the human family might eventually unite to “share not spoil” the planet, with Tim singing “Our world isn’t your world, you just stole the world,” and “fake democracies come cheap, profit today from our children’s tomorrow, get rich quick in Eldorado.” Having been singing about environmental issues for many years, it’s not only the Earth itself that Tim worries for.

The artwork for the single and the album has been directed and designed by Studio Fury who have a rich history of creating iconic album covers, including art directing the campaign for the latest Rolling Stones album, Hackney Diamonds. Formats include black vinyl, a special coloured vinyl pressing, CD and a 2CD deluxe edition. The latter is interesting because it includes a bonus CD called ‘Pudding’ which features 12 extra tracks; demos produced by the four songwriters in James. Most of them contain the original music and vocals created in the initial jams.
These are not demos of songs on the album but are “the tracks that didn’t make it to the next stage” where the individual songwriters would take them to the band members to contribute and Tim would work on the lyrics before recording the final versions with a producer.

The Manchester rockers will perform a special outdoor show in the outer bailey of the picturesque venue in July.
